Please be aware that it is not a GP’s responsibility to issue school letters of absence for your children, regarding COVID-19 or other illness. Government guidance is that school attendance is mandatory unless your child is self-isolating, has symptoms of COVID-19, is close to someone who has COVID-19 or has received a letter advising them to shield.

Have you been referred for a hospital appointment, or received an appointment and are not sure what to do?

The hospitals have produced a helpful FAQ guide to answer some of the questions you may have.

If your question isn't answered on their website, patients can contact the team directly on 01539 716998.

We are aware that many of our patients are awaiting appointments at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay (UHMBT). Many of these appointments have experienced long delays during the COVID-19 pandemic and so understandably a lot of these patients will have questions. A new helpline set up by UHMBT will allow you to:
- Cancel your appointment
- Check if you are still on a waiting list
- Try to request an earlier appointment if you feel your case is now critically urgent
You can ring the waiting list helpline direct on 01539 716998 (option 2) or email patientchoice@mbht.nhs.uk . There is no need to contact the practice about your position on a hospital waiting list unless you have a new symptom or you have been instructed to by your GP.
