Noticeboard

Due to the increase of severity of the Coronavirus outbreak, Lancaster Medical Practice is screening ALL appointments booked.  It is important that you answer all questions honestly and accurately to ensure we provide you with the correct advice and treatment, and to protect our staff and other patients.

To allow us to screen all our appointments, we have temporarily switched off some of our online booking facilities.  These services will resume in due course.  Appointments can be made by telephoning the practice.

Please read the guidance below concerning Coronavirus.

Surgery Appointments

Same Day Appointments

Same day appointments are for those who require 'on the day' medical attention.

To improve our service to patients we have modified our telephone answering service. This will improve your experience when you are contacting the surgery to arrange an urgent on the day appointment or you need urgent advice.

When you call the surgery you will be given options and, if you feel your request is urgent for the same day, you should select option 2. You will then hear the following message:

You have selected option 2 for on the day advice or appointment.  If you receive an appointment today, the clinician will only be able to deal with the urgent problem.  For anything else, you will need to book another appointment.

We have a set number of appointments each day; once these appointments are used you may be added to a clinician’s surgery as an extra. This means you may be asked to attend at a certain time, but this will not be a timed   appointment and you will have to sit and wait.

When you need an urgent on the day appointment, we may ask you to go to any of the Lancaster Medical Practice sites so you can be seen in a timely way. We sincerely appreciate your flexibility as we try to meet your needs.

‘On the day’ appointments may be with an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Pre-Bookable Appointments

If you need a follow up or routine appointment to review or discuss a problem, you can book an appointment with a doctor up to 4 or 5 weeks in advance.

All Nurse appointments are bookable in advance.

Telephone Consultations

All the Doctors are willing to speak to patients over the telephone. Please ring the surgery to book a telephone consultation.

The reception staff have a list of ailments that are suitable for a telephone consultation, so please be guided by them.
