Permanent closure of Scale Hall branch site

Posted on:

It is with great sadness that we must announce the permanent closure of our Scale Hall branch site which has been closed on a temporary basis since March 2020.

After much consideration and thought, we have taken the difficult decision to close the site permanently because it is no longer suitable for modern healthcare provision. Scale Hall cannot accommodate the number of clinicians, appointments and services that are needed in order to operate effectively.

We have closely monitored our ability to provide services for patients since the closure of Scale Hall back in March 2020, and we are confident that we can continue to meet the medical needs of the local community into the future.

Patients will be able to continue accessing nearby Owen Road site and any other Lancaster Medical Practice sites in order to take advantage of the range of clinicians and services on offer across the practice.

Patients with concerns or who feel they could be negatively affected by the closure are invited to attend one of two drop-in sessions taking place at Owen Road on Wednesday 4 October (9:30am – 11:30am) and Friday 6 October (12:30pm – 2:30pm).

Alternatively, a survey has been set up where you can provide any feedback on the closure. This is available at: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/SKMD2X/.

Some patients have received a text message about the closure. If you have received a text message from the practice this afternoon, please be reassured that the message is genuine and it is safe to click on the link to view the full letter.
